In this episode of the Pooch Parenting Podcast with Justine Schuurmans, we talk about her program, The Family Dog. She provides training materials both to dog owners and to dog trainers (me included!) to help families to have more fun with their dogs. We discuss the importance in understanding dog body language so that we can help our kids and dogs to make good choices and keep everyone safe and comfortable.
About Justine
After having two children of her own, dog trainer, Justine Schuurmans, soon realized just how tough it is for parents with a young family to raise a dog. So, she started The Family Dog, a training company for the WHOLE family. Her mission is to help parents and kids everywhere, to better understand their dogs – and LOVE living with them.
As a former Producer/Director for Nickelodeon, VH1 and MTV, Justine has blended her love of dogs with her experience in music and kids’ TV, to create many groundbreaking dog infotainment videos for families. Her fun, creative and family-friendly techniques have quickly become the trademark of all her online training.

What Your Dog is Desperately Trying to Tell You
Consider this:

- 77% of dog bites to children under the age of 12 are by dogs we know. Our dogs.
